About This Blog

cropped-fall.jpgI am embarking on a quest to complete 14 marathons in 2014 but I wanted to make the challenge a wee bit less selfish by giving it some purpose. I also wanted to make it personal, which is why raising awareness of and funding for Comfort Zone Camps seemed a perfect fit.

These camps provide children who have experienced the death of a parent a place to feel normal, at least as normal as they can feel. Akin to running a marathon, losing a parent presents particular challenges – and victories. It is my hope that the coming months and this blog will serve to inspire, to educate, and, maybe, to change a few lives for the better.

Most importantly, this blog is not about death or sadness. It is about hope. Not only the hope that children realize there is life after death, but the hope they will realize that through memories and stories, the life of their parent is everlasting.
